The inbox

Replies to your posts and mentions of your accounts, from every channel, answered as a team.

The inbox brings the conversations your posts start back into Orbitwrite, so your team can answer them without passing logins around.

The inbox is part of the Pro and Advanced plans.

LinkedIn profiles aren't included: LinkedIn doesn't let new apps read the comments on a member's own posts.

A mention is shown with the post it's replying to, so you can see what someone is talking about before you answer.

The counts beside each view are open conversations. Filter any view by channel, network, type or status.

Answer a conversation

Open a conversation to read the whole thread, then write in the reply box at the bottom and choose Send reply. It's posted on the network from the channel the conversation came in on.

  • Reply to a particular message in the thread, or choose Reply to the post instead.
  • Refine with AI offers Improve writing, Make punchier, Shorten and Fix grammar.

Triage

A conversation's status, read state and owner are shared by the whole workspace: resolve one and it's resolved for everyone.

  • Resolve when it's dealt with; Reopen if it isn't.
  • Snooze hides it until Later today, Later this week, This weekend, Next month, or a time you type (like "1 hour" or "Mon 9:00 AM"). It comes back as open.
  • Assign conversation gives it an owner; leave it unassigned for the pool.
  • Mark unread flags it for a teammate.

Select several to Resolve all, Reopen all or Unsnooze all at once.

How often it updates

Orbitwrite checks each channel for new replies on a schedule that depends on the network and how busy the channel is: every 10 minutes for a channel that's posted or been replied to in the last day, less often for a quiet one. LinkedIn is checked every 30 minutes at most, because LinkedIn gives every app a small daily allowance. Instagram comments arrive within moments, because Instagram tells us about them.

Choose Sync now to check right away. If a network has asked us to slow down, its channel is skipped until the network allows it again, and the inbox says so.

Replies that need approval

A teammate, API key or AI agent that can draft replies but not send them has its replies held in Needs approval. Someone who can reply reads the draft, edits it if they like, and approves it to send it, or rejects it with an optional note back to the drafter.

LinkedIn and stored content

LinkedIn only lets apps keep comments for 48 hours, and profiles for 24, after reading them. Orbitwrite clears older copies and reads them again from LinkedIn when you open them, so older LinkedIn conversations can take a moment to fill in.
