Posting schedule
Set the times each channel posts at, so the queue can fill them for you.
A posting schedule is a set of weekly times, such as Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 9:00. Each one is a slot. When you choose Next slot on a post, it takes the earliest slot that's free on every channel it's going to.
Slots are a plan, not a restriction. You can schedule a post for any time you like, and posting at a time that isn't a slot doesn't use one up.
Set a channel's schedule
Open Settings → Channels and click the channel.
Posting goal: how many times a week you want to post from this channel.
Timezone: the zone its times are set in. Pick where your audience is, not where you are.
Schedule: choose a smart schedule, which spreads your weekly goal across times that tend to work on that network, or tick the day and time cells yourself.
A channel with no schedule of its own uses the workspace's, the one set when the workspace was created. Give a channel its own schedule when it needs different times, like a LinkedIn page that posts on weekday mornings and an X account that posts all day.
How the queue picks a slot
- Next slot books the earliest slot that's free on all the post's channels. If a post goes to an X account and a LinkedIn page with different schedules, it takes the first time they share.
- A slot is taken once a post is scheduled or planned for it. Drafts don't hold slots.
- If the channels share no free slot in the next two weeks, Orbitwrite says so rather than picking one channel's time for all of them.
Best time
Best time in the schedule dialog suggests the strongest time in the coming days for each channel's network. The suggestions come from published research on when each network's audiences are most active, not from your own analytics. A network without research of its own uses a general profile, and the dialog says which it is.
Analytics also shows when your own posts have done best, once you have enough of them.
Different times for different channels
One post can go out at a different time on each channel. In the schedule dialog, choose Choose when to publish on each platform and set each one. Each time becomes its own entry on the calendar.
