Cross-posting and per-channel copy
Send one post to every channel, or rewrite it for one audience without breaking the rest.
Pick several channels in the account row and they all get the same post. Each one's copy is checked against its own network's limits, so you'll see straight away if the X version is too long.
Synced and unsynced channels
Every channel except the primary has a Sync with switch under its copy.
- On (synced): the channel copies the primary's text and media. Edit the primary and it follows.
- Off (unsynced): the channel keeps its own words and media. Changes to the primary no longer reach it.
Unsync a channel when its audience needs something different: a longer LinkedIn post beside a short X one, a different image on Instagram, or a Discord message that tags a role.
Turn the switch back on to make the channel copy the primary again. If its copy has changed, you're asked to confirm first, because its own text is replaced by the primary's.
Separate times per channel
A post can go out at a different time on each channel. In the schedule dialog, choose Choose when to publish on each platform. Each time is its own entry on the calendar, and each channel can be moved or unscheduled on its own afterwards.
When one channel fails
If one channel refuses a post and the rest publish, the failed channel is split off into its own draft, with the network's reason, so you can fix it and publish it without touching the ones that went out. See When a post fails.
Things that differ by network
Some things can't be cross-posted as-is, and the composer tells you before you schedule:
- Threads exist on X, Bluesky, Mastodon and Threads. On a synced channel anywhere else, the thread's posts are joined into one post, separated by blank lines, and you'll see that in its preview.
- Media requirements differ. Instagram, TikTok, YouTube and Pinterest need media; YouTube needs a video. Check Platforms for each network's limits.
- Mentions are per network:
@jamieon X may be someone else on Bluesky. Pick mentions from the suggestions as you type@, and check each unsynced channel's copy names the right account on that network. A mention with no handle on a network is published as the plain name, without the@.
