Orbitwrite now supports Threads, Meta's network.
Connect it from Settings, Channels, with one trip through Meta's login and back. From then on a Threads account sits in the composer's account row with everything else, in your posting slots, on the planner, and in approvals.
What you're granting
Meta's login screen lists the permissions one by one, and only the first is required:
- Access and display your Threads information and posts. Required. Without it the account cannot appear in the workspace at all.
- Create and share posts on your Threads profile. Publishing. Decline it and you can still write and schedule, but nothing leaves the workspace. You want this enabled really.
- Manage replies and quotes on Threads posts. The shared inbox and reply controls.
- Manage insights of posts on Threads. Per-post analytics.
- Delete Threads posts. Taking a published post off Threads from inside Orbitwrite.
- Share Threads content to Instagram. The cross-share toggle, for accounts with an Instagram linked.
What a Threads post can carry
500 characters, so the composer treats a Threads post as a chain by default. Each post carries its own count and publishes as a reply to the one before it.
Attach up to ten images as a carousel, or one video of up to five minutes. Threads won't take both in the same post, and the composer says so while you write rather than at publish time. Before it goes out you pick who is allowed to reply, and the Share to Instagram toggle cross-shares to a linked Instagram account.
Around the post
The AI assistant writes to the 500-character limit, and drafts go through the same review and approvals as anything else.
Replies sync into the workspace inbox, and analytics come back per post, snapshotted daily. Auto-engagement covers a repost or a reply on a delay, but not a like, because Threads gives no way to like a post from outside its own app. A connected account is offered to your link-in-bio page straight away.
