Claude Code

Run your socials from Claude Code.

Install the plugin, then ask for what you want. Claude Code drafts the post, finds a free slot and schedules it, and your team’s approvals still apply.

Set up in three steps

A key, two commands, and then you talk to it.

  1. 1

    Create a key

Open Settings, then API keys, and choose what Claude Code is allowed to do. The key is shown once, so copy it there and then.

  2. 2

    Install the plugin

Put the key in your environment as ORBITWRITE_API_KEY — that's where the plugin reads it from — then run two commands in Claude Code. It connects to your workspace and picks up what it needs to know about your channels.

  3. 3

    Ask for something

Paste a changelog and ask for a thread on X and a post on LinkedIn. Claude checks which accounts you mean, finds a free slot, and schedules it.

Things to ask it

Claude checks your workspace before it changes anything, then tells you what it did.

  • >

Turn this changelog into a thread for X and one post for LinkedIn, and schedule both at the next free slot.

  • >

Draft three posts about the launch and send them to Sam for approval.

  • >

Fill next week's Bluesky queue from these five ideas.

  • >

What's unread in the inbox? Draft replies to the questions and show me before you send them.

  • >

Add this image to the Instagram version only.

  • >

Move Thursday's post to Friday morning.

The details

An agent with a key to your social accounts had better be careful. Most of what follows is about that.

It reads before it writes

Ask for a LinkedIn post and it checks which of your LinkedIn accounts you meant. It never invents an account, a post or a teammate.

The same rules as the app

Every network's limits and your team's permissions are checked on our side. A post too long for X comes back refused, with the reason.

Approvals stay yours

If you can't publish on your own, nothing Claude makes for you can either. It waits for a reviewer, who signs off in the app or in Slack.

You choose what it can touch

Pick the permissions when you create the key. A read-only key can't publish, and Claude won't even see the option. Revoke it whenever you like.

It asks before anything hard to undo

Deleting a post, publishing right now, sending a reply, clearing the inbox. It stops and checks with you first.

Media comes along

Point it at an image or a video, on your machine or on the web, and it uploads and attaches the file. A file that breaks a network's rules is named before it goes out.

Times from your schedule

It books into the posting times you've already set, so a batch of posts fills the queue in order. Name a time yourself and it takes that instead.

It tells you what it did

Every post it makes comes back with a reference you can find in the app, and a link to the live post once the network has taken it.

Works without the plugin too

One command connects Claude Code without it, and the same connection works in other agents. The MCP page covers those.

The plugin, and everything Claude reads about Orbitwrite, is public and MIT licensed at github.com/orbitwrite/skills. To connect Cursor, VS Code or anything else, see the MCP page. For a post from a script rather than a conversation, there’s the CLI and the SDK.
